Grades 1 through 5
Elementary Curriculum
A Culture of Inquiry
UCDS teachers and students generate questions and investigate ideas in order to build understanding. Academic skills are embedded in the context of this meaningful, inquiry-based work.
Collaborative, Connected Learning
UCDS believes that students benefit most from learning experiences that are meaningful, connected, and relevant. The extensive UCDS curriculum creates opportunities for students to tackle individualized goals by sharing ideas, strategies, and resources with one another.
We teach math, reading, writing, and social studies in a dynamic and integrated manner. Social emotional growth and development are woven throughout all aspects of the day. Students learn that there are many approaches to problem-solving and more than one effective way to arrive at solutions.
